Psalm 95 tells us to “sing joyfully to the Lord.” At upRising, we don’t just sing joyfully…we sing and play instruments passionately, artfully, inclusively, diversely, beautifully, with or without accompaniment, in solo and ensembles like the chime choir, and often! Nearly every event is an occasion to raise a chorus of praise to the Gracious Creator that has blessed our church with a wealth of musically talented individuals. Email us to learn more

Many of us have been “taught” what the Bible says. Often those things are hurtful and at odds with the God of love we have come to know. Braving the Bible is an opportunity to come together and explore the Bible through the lens of who we understand God to be. It is a safe space to discuss and to question – with no “right answers” required. This group meets after Sunday morning worship in the classrooms. Email us to learn more

The class meets in-person and also is available via Zoom to those who cannot attend in person. Email us to learn more

This virtual book group is unlike your typical “book club” in that this group leisurely reads the book together and then discusses passages and ideas that arise out of the reading. As a result of this format, the group has no predetermined timeline for finishing a book; they read a particular book until the group decides to move on to another book. The group, which meets Wednesdays at 8 pm via Zoom, is open to anyone who enjoys books that explore spirituality, religion, emotional health, and recovery. Email us to learn more

The upRising Cancer Support Group is a text group providing support to members, family members or caregivers experiencing cancer through text/prayer group messages. Games, prayer, meaningful discussions, and a safe place to share joys and sorrows are all part of the virtual Chat 7.5 group, which meets via Zoom on Monday evenings at 7:30. The group began during the pandemic in 2020 and found the shared time each week to be so uplifting, that it has continued. The group is open to anyone who is looking for connection.
